TIPS FOR PETS

Bringing puppy home
The first days when the puppy goes with you, you must leave an everlasting impression on your dog. Therefore, make sure you give him love and attention. Initially the dog may be a little skeptical, so bring him home when there are a lot of people. Let him explore his new environment and satisfy his curiosity, but do not leave him alone for several hours. During the first week the puppies might suffer from a sense of separation from their mothers and may grumble a lot. Watch over them but do not respond all the time.

Making a home for your puppy
Your puppy will need a basket or bed in a warm draft-free place. A good idea is to use a cardboard box and make the inside like a bed with a blanket or towel and your puppy will have a warm comfortable home where it can feel safe. Respect the space and privacy of your puppy. Do not yank the house; leave it to go out alone. Do not allow children to disturb or tease the puppy. And finally, do not use the house as a "punishment" if they are naughty.

Some necessary things for your puppy

  • A bowl of water and food.
  • A basket or bed.
  • A brush and a comb.
  • Electronic signs.
  • Collar and leash guide.
  • Shampoo specifically for dogs, toothbrush and toothpaste.
  • Safe and quality games that help develop its teeth.

How to lift your dog

Try to resist the temptation to lift your dog often. Its little body is very sensitive. When lifting, follow these simple steps:

  • Place one hand under its belly and the other under his chest.
  • Lift with both arms.
  • Keep it close to your body to feel secure.

Education
Start training your puppy right away. It must be taken outside frequently for its needs, especially when waking in the morning. If your puppy makes rounds or whines at the door, you have to take it out for a walk. Of course, accidents happen, and you should not raise your voice or hit it or put its nose in the dirt. This will only create fear and confusion. If you discover when the puppy needs to go out, take him immediately outside and tell him "well done" when it finishes. Ask a good trainer to help and advise you.

The development of teeth and chewing
To help pull teeth to prevent him from chewing your furniture, your puppy needs items not destroyed as a bone or a rubber ball to chew on. Make sure these items are large enough to not be able to swallow. Do give him real bones because they will break and can hurt. Give it immediately when it starts to chew on forbidden items. Remember to praise when they chew the game.

Visit to the Veterinarian
Puppies can be prone to all kinds of infectious diseases, therefore, it is recommended to make an early visit to the vet. The first vaccines should be administered at the age of 6-8 weeks. For full protection, you should visit the vet for a series of vaccines.

Regular examinations
Make sure your dog is used to being taken care and do the regular check-ups yourself. Check the eyes, ears, mouth, legs, nails, skin and coat. Do not hesitate to contact your veterinarian if you notice anything unusual.

Diet and Exercise
Diet and exercise are important for the health of your puppy. Make sure your puppy exercises. The exact set of exercises will vary naturally from breed to breed, and the vet or your breeder can advise you on this.

Identification of disease
You can often see if your puppy does not feel well and a quick visit to your veterinarian will help to confirm the problem.

The following are possible signs of illness:

  • Loss of appetite and lack of desire for water.
  • Sudden weight loss or conversely long gradual weight loss.
  • Sloth or unwillingness to play or practice.
  • Very frequent urination or decreased urination.
  • Bloody or watery bowel movement, diarrhea.
  • Persistent vomiting.
  • Excessive salivation or irregular breathing.
  • Dull coat.

Primary education
Nobody likes an unruly, uncontrollable dog, so it is best to begin his education very early. With the help of a trainer and with positive approach the puppy can follow a basic obedience program, learning commands like "sit, stay, come etc". One of the first things you teach your puppy is to know his name. Use his name as often as you can to capture its attention. Use its name when stroking or feeding. He learns his name very quickly and responds when you call. Repetition is very important when training puppies. And remember to have patience with them.

Some tips for training

  • Keep a training program twice a day, 5 minutes each.
  • To avoid confusion, use the same tone of voice and the same words for specific instructions.
  • Be serious, so your puppy gets the training seriously.
  • If you lose your patience, your puppy feels it and this hampers their education. Try to stay calm.
  • Never hit your puppy or raise the tone of your voice. Use praise where appropriate and pay no attention or discontinue the course if something is not right.
  • End the lesson in a happy tone.

Collar and Leash

Your pet must get used to wearing a soft collar. After a while, put in a short leash and light-guide and let him pull a few hours each day. The goal is to get used to walking with you without pulling the leash. Try to stay close to him when going for a walk.
